Tam O'Shanter Tam O'Shanter

Back by popular demand!

24th September - 9th October 2009.

What better way to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns than with a dramatisation of one his best loved works.
Drama, music and dance bring to life the journey of Tam and Meg as they battle against the storm to confront the deil himsel!

“Excellent as per usual with the Take Away Theatre Co. The children loved the telling of the classic tale which was performed brilliantly.  Both the quality and cost of the performances we have had recently have been the deciding factor in having you back”.
Ken O’Hara – Depute Head of Dalmilling Primary School in Ayr

"Tam's Tale Enchants Pupils!" - THE CARRICK GAZETTE 12/03

Tam O'Shanter"What better way to celebrate the birth of Robert Burns than with a dramatisation of one of his best loved works? Last week, all primary school pupils in Maybole had the chance to enjoy drama, music and dance which brought together the story of Tam O'Shanter and his horse Meg as they battle against the storm to confront the deil himself. Two performances by The Take Away Theatre Company were booked for the Town Hall but the first one for Gardenrose pupils had to be moved to the school because of the weather when snow fell on the town last Wednesday. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the fun as the cast really made the poem come alive. On Friday, Cairn and St Cuthberts pupils made the trip to the Town Hall and they too thought the show was excellent".
