'It's Your Choice' - Brand New for 2012

What is it?
It’s your choice provides key messages to young people about leading a healthy and positive lifestyle and being more informed about making the right choice in life. Exploring a range of issues, the production focuses on healthy lifestyle choices and resisting peer pressure at an impressionable age.
The Format.
‘It’s your choice !’ is a forty five minute drama that gives the audience an insight into the lives of a group of young people, the challenges they face, the choices they make, and, the outcome of those choices.
The production is followed by up to two participatory workshops (depending on numbers) lasting thirty minutes each. During the workshops the actors stay in character and the audience have the opportunity to interact with them, revisiting their problems and, helping them to achieve alternative outcomes. The workshops focus on the importance of decision making and rejecting peer pressure. Whilst structured, the content of the workshops is informed by the opinions of the young people in the room.
What’s required?
Nothing is required from the school apart from a space large enough to accommodate the number of participants and a power socket! Differentiated worksheets are sent out with our Teachers’ Pack in advance of the production. These can be completed at a later date as follow up work.
